School Closure: Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June 2026
Due to exceptionally high temperatures forecast over the coming days, we have carried out thorough risk assessments across the school to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both students and staff.
Following this careful review, we have made the decision to close the school fully on Wednesday 24 June and Thursday 25 June 2026.
We understand this may cause disruption for families and want to reassure you that this decision has not been taken lightly. However, given the forecast conditions and the limitations of our buildings in sustained high temperatures, we believe this is the safest course of action.
Learning Arrangements
Work will be set for all students to complete independently during the closure period.
- Work will be shared via our usual online platforms by 10:00am each day
- Students are expected to engage with this work as they would during a normal school day
- Staff will be contactable via email throughout the day
Examinations, Trips and Events
- Year 10 mock examinations scheduled for these dates will be postponed. Revised dates will be shared shortly by the Year 10 team
- Year 11 Prom will go ahead as planned
Free School Meals
Free School Meal HUGG vouchers will be issued to eligible families. Further details will be shared directly.
Reopening Arrangements
We plan to reopen as normal on Friday 26 June.
Existing hot weather adaptations, including:
- Uniform flexibility
- Increased ventilation
will remain in place.
Ongoing Review
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates if required. Our priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our school community.
If you have any questions, please contact your child’s Year Team in the first instance.
