We look forward to welcoming prospective students and their families to our October 2026 open events.
Whether you are considering Uplands Academy for Year 7 entry in September 2027 or would simply like to find out more about our school, our open events provide the perfect opportunity to experience life at Uplands Academy first-hand.

Whole School Open Event
Saturday 10 October 2026
9:30am to 12:30pm
Our interactive whole school open event provides visitors with the opportunity to explore every aspect of life at Uplands Academy and discover what we can offer your child within our supportiv, challenging and stimulating environment.
Prospective students in Years 5 and 6 and their families are encouraged to attend.
During your visit, you will have the opportunity to:
- Explore our facilities and learning spaces
- Visit subject departments and take part in interactive activities
- Meet our students, staff and Senior Leadership Team
- Learn more about our curriculum, enrichment programme and pastoral support
- Discover how we prepare students for future success
Headteacher presentations will take place in the Main Hall at 9:45am and 11:00am. Duration: approximately 40 minutes.
No booking is required.
Year 6 Open Morning Tours
Monday 12 - Friday 16 October 2026
Following our Open Day, our bookable Open Morning Tours give prospective students in Year 6 and their parents or carers the opportunity to experience Uplands Academy during a normal school day.
Led by our Student Ambassadors, these tours offer the chance to:
- Explore our school site
- Observe learning in lessons
- Meet staff and students
- Learn more about life at Uplands Academy
- Hear about the transition from primary to secondary school
All visits begin with registration at 9:00am, with tours departing promptly at 9:15am.
After visiting lesson one with our student guides, families are invited to stay for refreshments and an informal Q&A with members of the Senior Leadership Team, key staff and current students.
Places are limited and advance booking is essential.

Applications for September 2027
Applications for the admission of Year 6 children to Uplands Academy are made through East Sussex County Council. You must apply online via their website when the application window opens in September.
The deadline for applications for Year 7 September 2027 is 31 October 2026.
