Job Opportunities

Uplands Academy, a successful and popular rural 11-18 school, is an excellent place to work.  Our staff team are supportive and helpful.  Our students are polite and friendly.  Staff benefit from free gym membership and will work in a school with one of the most amazing views in England.  In January 2021 we moved into a fabulous new building which is bright, light, and fully stocked with the modern technologies that make teaching and learning relevant to the working world.

Uplands converted to an Academy in September 2022 and is a member of the MARK Education Trust (formally Beacon Community College Academy Trust).  The acronym MARK was selected because staff who work in the trust are motivated, ambitious, resourceful, and knowledgeable. This partnership will provide many exciting opportunities for professional development, and the sharing of good practice across the two schools. This is the start of a new era for Uplands and an excellent time to join our thriving rural school.

We offer a full range of continued professional development for both teaching and support staff.  We recognise that our staff are our greatest asset, and we value teamwork and a collegiate approach.  We want to assist you in developing skills and knowledge so that you can have an enjoyable and fulfilling career.

Staff will benefit from a positive working environment, with strong support for professional development and specialist teaching rooms.  We aim for high standards, helping every student to reach their full potential through the development of skills, concepts, and knowledge, within the framework of a caring community.  Relationships between staff and students are based on trust, mutual respect, and a determination to succeed.

Some of the vacancies offer term time only, part time and flexible working within school hours. Some require no school experience and offer exciting opportunities to support our student focussed departments and other administrative areas. Some roles are new, put in place to offer further support to our students, staff and our wider expanding trust. These roles are a superb opportunity for anyone wishing to gain experience in a school environment, possibly as part of their career development.

MARK Education Trust is in a phase of expansion and opportunity. If you would like any further information or would like to discuss any of these posts, please contact our Human Resources department in the first instance by emailing hr@uplands-academy.org com or call 01892 786611.
