Year 11 History Students Visit Shakespeare's Globe

On Friday 14 November, Year 11 History students stepped back in time with an inspiring visit to London as part of their GCSE course.

They visited the iconic Shakespeare's Globe theatre, where a wonderful guide took them on a tour and spoke about how it was built and how it linked to Elizabethan society. They then had the opportunity to attend a lecture packed with exam tips, and fascinating facts about Elizabethan London.

The day continued with a stroll along the South Bank, spotting key historic Elizabethan landmarks like The Golden Hind, linking perfectly to their studies on Francis Drake and Elizabethan exploration.

Despite the challenging weather, students enjoyed a well-earned break at Starbucks and a cultural stop at the Tate Modern, where they explored the latest exhibitions.

Mrs Underdown, Head of History, shared: "Our students were wonderfully behaved, and it was a pleasure to take them on such an enriching visit."
