Outstanding LAMDA Success for Uplands Students

Published 11/09/2026

We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our LAMDA students, with all 21 students who took their examinations in July achieving an outstanding Distinction grade. This remarkable accomplishment reflects not only the students' hard work, dedication, and courage, but also the expert guidance and support provided by Ms Whelan, Head of Drama who teaches LAMDA at Uplands Academy.

LAMDA (the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) empowers learners of all ages to find their voice, build resilience, and express themselves with confidence. Taken by more than 130,000 learners each year across more than 50 countries, LAMDA examinations develop essential communication and performance skills, helping young people build strong foundations for success in education, work, and life.

At Uplands Academy, we are incredibly proud to offer our students this valuable opportunity. Through their LAMDA studies, students develop confidence, public speaking skills, creativity, and self-belief, qualities that benefit them both inside and outside the classroom.

Ms Whelan said: "I am incredibly proud of every student who took their LAMDA exam this summer. Achieving a Distinction is a fantastic accomplishment, but what has impressed me most is the commitment, resilience, and confidence they have developed throughout the process. Watching students grow in self-belief and find their voice is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching LAMDA, and these results are thoroughly deserved. Congratulations to all 21 students on their outstanding success."

Congratulations once again to all of our students on this exceptional achievement. Their results are a wonderful reflection of the talent, determination, and enthusiasm that make our school community so special.
