First fixture for our Year 7 Rugby Team

On 30 September, our Year 7 students started the new term on a positive note, proudly representing Uplands Academy in our brand-new rugby kit, sponsored by E.W. GEE at the Lewes Priory Touch Rugby Festival. This was the first time the group had played together as a team, and they showed excellent talent, teamwork and determination throughout the event.

Uplands faced strong opposition from other local schools, with every player contributing and working hard for the team. All students should be incredibly proud of themselves for stepping forward to represent the school and demonstrating outstanding commitment and sportsmanship.

Well done to Mia, Charlie, Arthur, Henry, Logan, Freya, Benjamin, Elliott, Oliver, Esme, Jack and James.

Mr D Stidder, PE Teacher, commented:

"With training taking place every Wednesday after school and more fixtures coming up, the team has an exciting season ahead. Continued practice and training will undoubtedly help this talented group grow even stronger. Well done, Year 7!"

WE ARE UPLANDS!
